TEDxBrowardCollege
I was asked to spearhead TEDxBrowardCollege and manage the creation of an event with many moving parts. As the Chair of the Committee I was intimately involved in every aspect which included:
-
Attaining a license to create an event from TED itself (the TED TALK topics) all needed to be submitted and approved.
-
Funding and location approval from Broward College
-
Announcement and subsequent review and selection of speakers/experts
-
Promotion design, creation, and submission (Sun-Sentinel, social media, college-wide)
-
Speaker and host practice sessions and meetings
-
Design and tracking of ticket sales through EventBrite
-
Design of event brochure
-
Securing beverage and catering following event
-
Securing of entertainment following event
-
Lighting and stage design
-
Live-stream broadcast of event
-
3 camera shoot of event
-
Editing and final submission of TED Talks videos to the team at TED for their approval
-
Follow-up of guests

This was a sold-out event and the speeches can now be seen on the TED website. This successful event and the resulting “TED Talks” is a notable accomplishment for each student, staff member and community leader who participated, and for the college itself. Looking forward, I am delighted to know that each year TEDxBrowardCollege will continue to grow and gain momentum in our community.
Below are a few of the speeches, images, press releases, promotions, fliers, follow-up documents, and some other assorted information that was created for this event.

IGNITE the Entrepreneurial Spirit
Created, produced, recorded and edited three "IGNITE the Entrepreneurial Spirit" events. These events are designed to bring together students at Broward College with local business professionals. Many of these business owners attended Broward College and faced and overcame the same struggles and realities of our students. In all three events, we brought together a diverse selection of speakers that represent and reflect the Broward College student body. The stories they tell are highly relatable and motivational to the students at Broward College.

Below are a few of the speeches, images, press releases, promotions, fliers, follow-up documents, and some other assorted information that was created for these three events.
